Door decals for care homes: choosing a familiar look
Explore our colourful door decals, see how they could look fitted, and compare designs, sizes and practical considerations before ordering.

A row of similar doors can make a care-home corridor feel impersonal. A door decal offers a way to give a bedroom entrance its own colour and familiar front-door appearance, without replacing the door itself.
Our dementia-friendly door decals include six-panel designs in a choice of colours, with plain versions and designs featuring a printed letterbox and knocker. Here are a few practical points to consider when choosing one.
Start with the person who will use the door
Where possible, involve the resident in choosing the design. A colour they like, or one that reminds them of a previous home, can be a useful starting point for a conversation. Ask family members about personal preferences if that helps, while keeping the resident’s current wishes at the centre of the decision.
People respond differently to changes in their surroundings. A decorative door is not a guarantee that someone will recognise their room, so introduce changes thoughtfully and observe how the person responds.
Choose a colour and a style
The range includes blue, green, light blue, lilac, lime green, peach, red, white and yellow designs, with additional choices in the range with printed fittings. Compare the plain panelled design with the version featuring an imitation letterbox and door knocker.
The letterbox, knocker and panel details are part of the printed artwork: they are not working fittings. Choose a design that suits the resident and the setting, and consider how it will sit alongside the surrounding wall colour and existing room identification.
See the design in context
We have added fitted-door mockups to the product galleries so you can picture each design in a neutral care-home corridor. Select a colour on the product page to compare its artwork and fitted view.
These contextual images are AI-generated illustrations, not photographs of completed installations. Keep the original artwork image as your reference for the supplied design; lighting and screens can affect how colours appear.
Measure before you order
Check the dimensions and fitting information on the individual product page against the actual door. Measure the available surface and note the position of the handle, glazing, hinges, signs and any other fittings. If the door needs a different size, contact us to discuss the options before ordering.
For a care setting, have the person responsible for the building confirm that the proposed covering and installation are suitable for that particular door. Keep required signs, safety features and door hardware visible and usable, and follow the supplier’s preparation, fitting and cleaning instructions.
Plan a small, considered change
It can help to start with one room rather than changing a whole corridor at once. Give the resident time to become familiar with the design, and ask staff and family members for observations. Keep clear room identification in place where it is needed.
Door decals are printed to order, and the product pages describe them as non-returnable. Confirm the colour, size, quantity and any custom requirements with our team before placing an order.
