Making Daily Tasks More Manageable
Keeping a familiar task enjoyable can matter more than finishing it quickly. Start with something the person wants to do.
Prepare the setup
Have the relevant items ready, explain one step at a time and allow time. Avoid turning an activity into a memory test.
Adapt the task
Try a shorter version or share parts of it. Someone might enjoy choosing clothes even when fastening them is difficult.
Choose aids thoughtfully
Trial an aid where possible. An unfamiliar gadget may add work rather than remove it. Ask for an assessment when the task involves safety or physical support.
